In response to police, the trio had moved into the bungalow on lease in January. “The suspects, however, did not pay any rent to the complainant. They also threatened him that if the amount is not paid to them, they will file a fake molestation complaint against him,” a police officer stated.
The sufferer, who retired from a non-public firm, lodged a grievance on this regard with the Airport police on Tuesday.
Senior inspector Vilas Sonde from Airport police station stated, “We are searching for the suspects. The bungalow owner repeatedly requested them to pay the rent, but they refused. Later, they started issuing threats to the owner.” He added, “When the complainant insisted on getting his dues, the suspects demanded Rs 10 lakh to vacate the property. We have registered a case of tresspass and extortion against them.”
