Stating that a cabinet expansion will take place soon, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said there was no problem of coordination between the BJP and the Shiv Sena-led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. “There is no problem between us. We are working in coordination. Everything will be decided in full coordination between BJP and Shiv Sena. After we finalise our decision, we will let you know,” Fadnavis said.
Speaking to reporters, Fadnavis denied that the Shinde Sena had laid claim to 22 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. He also denied that MP Gajanan Kirtikar had said that Shinde Sena was getting a raw deal in the alliance with BJP though they had joined the NDA. “I do not think Kirtikar has made any such statement. This is also a figment of imagination,” he said.
Asked when the cabinet expansion will take place, Fadnavis said, “The cabinet expansion will take place.”
On Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Nana Patole and Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut’s comments speculating on the impending fall of the government, Fadnavis said, “They keep blabbering…You need work, so they keep replying to you. We do not have to reply to what they are claiming.” Fadnavis also said he did not know who Sanjay Raut was. “Sanjay Raut ?..,” he said.
When contacted, Shinde Sena spokesperson Naresh Mhaske said, “I have no idea whether Kirtikar has made any such statement. I will have to find out whether he made the statement. At least I have not heard anything of that sort.”
On Friday morning, another Sena MP, Shrirang Barne, denied that MPs belonging to Shiv Sena had complained to the chief minister about the raw deal being meted out by BJP to them.
