Pune: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its remand plea filed before the special court here on Tuesday said that it has found more than Rs 47 lakh stashed in the 17 bank accounts in the name of arrested Pune divisional commissioner Anil Ramod and his family members.
The anti-corruption unit of the CBI, Pune, last week arrested Ramod on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakh from a representative of farmers whose land was acquired by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the widening of the Alandi-Pandharpur highway.
The CBI had recovered Rs 6.64 crore from Ramod’s residence and Rs 1.28 lakh from his office besides incriminating documents relating to immovable properties during searches following his arrest.
Special judge A S Waghmare sent Ramod to judicial custodial remand till June 27 after the CBI did not seek to extend his custody. Defence lawyer Sudhir Shah said that the bail application for Ramod will be filed on Wednesday.
