A 57-year-old social worker from Shukrawar Peth approached the cyber police after he read the text on a social media site.
In another action, the Sahakarnagar police are investigating a Dhankawdi-based office-bearer of an influential community for posting a provocative and threatening text against the Shinde-Fadnavis government over allegations of a lathicharge on warkaris (pilgrims) in Alandi before the palkhi procession began last week.
The office-bearer demanded a public apology fromthe government and threatened to stage a protest at the Pandharpur temple and to disrupt the annual pooja performed by the chief minister and the deputy chief minister, if an apology was not tendered.
Katraj-based social activist Tushar Damgude (42) lodged a complaint with the Sahakarnagar police accusing the office bearer of a community of uploading a video on a social media site demanding an apology fromthe chief minister and deputy chief minister. Damgude’s FIR states that the officer-bearer has claimed that the police acted at the behest of the government and abused and lathicharged the warkaris in Alandi in the video.
Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Pimpri Chinchwad police have maintained that the police did not use any force against the warkaris and there was no incident of a lathicharge.
