NASHIK: A 14-year-old boy in Bhusawal of Jalgaon taluka landed in trouble after he was found carrying a country-made firearm to the school where he studies in Standard IX.
The incident came to light when school authorities registered a complaint and the Faizpur police filed an FIR against the boy under relevant sections of the Arms Act on Friday.
On Wednesday, a school staffer had checked the boy’s bag after she became suspicious, and had found the firearm.
The principal registered a police complaint on Friday. Superintendent of police (SP) of Jalgaon M Rajkumar told TOI, “A few weeks ago, the boy had gone to attend a wedding function with his family in Bihar. At the function, he saw a firearm with one of his relatives. The boy got curious about the weapon and asked for it. The relative, however, refused. The boy then stole it and brought it back to Bhusawal. ” The boy was handed over to his parents. A team has left for Bihar to nab the man who had the firearm with him in the first place.
