The police have booked a private coaching class teacher in Pune for allegedly beating her 12-year-old student with a steel rod on Sunday and threatening to parade him naked in the locality, officials said.
The father of the victim, a resident of Chinchwad, lodged a complaint at the Kothrud station on Monday. No arrest has been made so far and an investigation is on, the police said.
According to the police, the boy, while at the private coaching class at Kothrud on Sunday afternoon, went to the “bathroom” and his friend allegedly locked the door from outside. “The boy banged on the door repeatedly, which infuriated the teacher who shouted at him. It is learnt that the teacher allegedly threatened to parade him naked in a slum area and hand him over to the police and also injured the boy on his hands with a steel rod.”
“The accused teacher has been giving coaching for students preparing for some Army examination being conducted by the central government,” said police sub-inspector Tanaji Mandhare who is investigating the case.
The police have registered a case against the teacher, a resident of Bhusari Colony in Kothrud, under sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of Juvenile Justice Act.
