The accident took place on June 25. The motorcyclist, Mohammad Shafi (54) from Handewadi Road, was under treatment since then and lodged a complaint with the Kondhwa police on Wednesday.
Shafi, an electric supervisor with a construction firm, told TOI, “I was in the ICU of the Sassoon hospital where a rod was fixed in my left leg after a surgery. I have been advised rest for three months.”
He said, “On the day of accident, I picked up an empty gas cylinder from my residence at Ghulamalinagar on Handewadi Road. I was proceeding towards my sister’s place to deliver the cylinder when the driver of a car parked along the road opened its door. It was so sudden that my biked rammed the car door.”
Investigation officer Dinesh Raskar said, “We are analyzing CCTV cameras to identify the car driver.” The driver has been booked under IPC and Motor Vehicles Act.
